Dr Inchien Chamisa

Specialist General Surgeon, Proctologist and Laparoscopic Surgeon

Dr. I Chamisa is a Specialist General Surgeon, founder and Medical Director of the Proctology, Pelvic Floor, Endoscopy and
Aesthetic VEINS ( Not Haemorrhoid and Endoscopy Centre). He specialises in management of Diseases of the Anus……..Laparoscopic Procedures and treatment of Aesthetic VEINS ( Varicose Veins). He specializes in the management of diseases of the anus, rectum , colon and stomach with a special focus on ANORECTAL DISEASES, PELVIC FLOOR DISORDERS AND ENDOSCOPIC/ LAPAROSCOPIC PROCEDURES. He graduated MB ChB at the University of Zimbabwe and did his internship at Mpilo and Bulawayo Central Hospitals in Zimbabwe. He then moved to South Africa to pursue his post-graduate training in Surgery. He had a stint in South Africa after which he left for the United Kingdom where he completed his Surgical Residence in England, Scotland and Wales.

He is a Member and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. Upon completion of his Surgical training in the United Kingdom, he moved back to Durban, South Africa where he did part of his Surgical training at the University of Kwazulu Natal. He went on to obtain the Fellowship of the College of Surgeons of South Africa. In 2008 he moved to Kalafong Hospital and the University of Pretoria where he worked as a Consultant General Surgeon and Senior Lecturer. In 2010 he spend a year at Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town where he did further training in Colorectal Surgery. He has been in Private Practice since 2011. However, he is still attached to the University of Pretoria where he assists with teaching and training of undergraduate and postgraduate students. He has attended several international courses and training mainly in endoscopy, laparoscopy, pelvic floor surgery and proctology. He has done further training in proctology at the University of Geneva Hospital under the guidance of Professor Bruno Roche a world renowned Colorectal and Proctological Surgeon.

• Member of the Pelvic Floor Society of United Kingdom.

Proctology, Pelvic floor Surgery, Minimal access Surgery, Surgical Gastroenterology, Colorectal Surgery, Gallbladder Surgery, Repair of all types of Hernias, Training of young Surgeons and Medical students.


Extra-curriculum activities

My passion for life include long-distance running, cycling, hiking, camping and 4 x 4 adventure rides. I have done 11 ultra-marathon comrade races (90km) and my current running goals is to run all the famous major international marathons in
all the 7 continents.To date I have done the Berlin Marathon, Paris Marathon, Amsterdam Marathon, Athens Marathon, The Great Wall of China and the Ethiopian Race. I am a member of the elite Seven Continents International Running Club. My passion for running satisfies my wanderlust for seeing the world and explore different cultures and exotic cuisines.
